Capture the hatchery 2023 Photo contest

 

The event will take place from June 1- August 31. where participants will have that timeframe to capture UP TO THREE PHOTOS on the grounds of the historic fish hatchery.

  • There will be THREE CATEGORIES:
    • Youth
    • Amateur
    • Professional
  • Awards will be given to the top 4 photographers in each division.
  • Winners will be announced in mid-September
  • There will be no theme, the only rule is the photo must be taken on the grounds of the DC Booth National Fish Hatchery during the June 1 – August 31 timeframe.
  • Contestants will submit their photos to dcboothphotos@gmail.com  with their name, category/group, and title of the image + required forms below.
  • Contestants must agree to the consent and credit release. ONLY photos with minors/children need the agreement for use of likeness. Landscape and wildlife photos do not need the consent release.
  • There will be no entry fee.

Format

All digital photo contest entries must be taken on the grounds of the D.C. Booth National Fish Hatchery & Archives in Spearfish, SD. File size is limited to 5MB, JPEG format is preferred.

 

Judging

Photo submissions will be judged by community members and winners from each theme and entrant category will be awarded a prize from the Pond Gift Shop. After receiving notification by email with details on how to collect their prizes, winners and their photography will be announced on social media.

Photo Release Info

All contest entries will be retained by D.C. Booth National Fish Hatchery & Archives and may be used for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to publications, webpages, and presentations. Photo credit will be included on any images used for these purposes. All participants must submit a completed “Copyright Release Agreement” Form 3-2259 when entering photos to the contest.

Use of Likeness

If the face of an individual is pictured in a photograph, an “Agreement for Use of Likeness in Audio/Visual Products” must accompany the entry; please complete and submit Form 3-2260 for this purpose.

The Booth Society is a non-profit, citizen-based group which relies on donations, sales, and City subsidy funding to promote, preserve, and enhance the educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities at the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery.
